What is the America’s Cup?

The America’s Cup is the oldest international sporting trophy, with a history dating back to 1851. It’s known as one of the toughest challenges in the world of sports. The New York Yacht Club, one of the most prestigious clubs globally, held the trophy for an incredible 132 years before Australia claimed it in 1983. Since then, only teams from the United States, Switzerland, and New Zealand have won the Cup.

Currently, the title is held by Emirates Team New Zealand, representing the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron.

Where does it happen?

In Barcelona, right in front of our venue. All the teams’ bases are situated in the Port Vell area, which houses the America’s Cup Race Village.

When is it going on?

The event runs from August to October 2024. It begins with the Louis Vuitton Preliminary Regatta on August 22, followed by the Louis Vuitton Cup (Challenger Selection Series). The Louis Vuitton America’s Cup Match starts on October 12, 2024.

Where to watch it?

How to get there?

Access to the area will be guaranteed for pedestrians, cyclists, and public transport users, as well as for the Barceloneta neighborhood. Access by private car may be restricted at certain times and locations due to crowd levels. We recommend using public transport, a taxi, or walking. If you need to drive, please make sure to reserve a parking spot at Parking Nova Bocana Hotel Vela to ensure entry to the area.
